Wedding Cake Topper Bots!

Hi!

I've just finished a commission where the client asked for a pair of robotic wedding cake toppers!

 The Wedding Couple

Close Up
The Bride

 The Groom

They stand roughly 5 inches tall and were made from a wide selection of bits and bobs ranging from Sculpey to Greenstuff, Plasticard and wire.

I really enjoyed making them and would be more than happy to discuss making more with anyone who wants them!

All the best

Sketchbooking 2

Hi!

Heres another page of my sketchbooks!

Sketchbookage!

I've developed the loose idea from the previous page a little, investigating different armour types and head shapes and wondering whether head size or shape could represent different ranks or castes. Its always interesting to see how ones doodlings can take a life of their own as you develop them. I think I could probably have a bash at looking at some Egyptian artwork in order to develop the look I am thinking of.

I think I will continue developing the concept over the coming few days and may even have a bash at making a maquette of him once I'm happy with the overall design!

All the best!

Sketchbooking!

Hi!

Somewhat later than promised heres the first days sketchbook page!

Sketchbook!

Its a bit of a mix of different bits and bobs but theres a concept starting to emerge there somewhere! I am going to continue to develop it to see what I can come up with as I fancy a bit of a change from producing lots of rusty robots.

Looking at whats appeared thus far I am quite drawn to the chap with the Pharaoh beard and will see where the concept goes. Maybe I will combine it with the Goblin armour in the centre as its quite fun too. I might have a bash at making it a bit more Egyptian crossed with sci-fi in-keeping with the beard!

All the best!

Return of the Richard

Hi!

Well its been an action packed few weeks with a mad rush to get a load of stuff done for the Boutique Market in Portsmouth with Amy of STEAM POWERED FISH which was a fun day, if a bit quiet due to the football being on at the same time.

Buffoon at  Work

I have a load of robots left over too which will be getting put on my ETSY page in the next day or two and will be getting posted here too!

In other news I am on the lookout for a job so if anyone is recruiting or looking for a sculptor, model maker or concept artist please feel free to get in touch!

I am also planning on starting to update my blog far more regularly. As already mentioned I am going to post some pictures of the Baublebot, Camerabot and Nutcrackerbot here in the morning and hope to start posting some pages from my sketchbooks every day for the foreseeable future. It will get me drawing again as I have been so busy making stuff I haven't had chance to draw enough!

All the best!

Richard
